“In My Culture, Death Is Not The End…”
We recently mourned the passing of Chadwick Boseman, who came into our hearts after his stunning performance in the Marvel movie, Black Panther. He played King T’Challa, the leader of a resource-filled kingdom many people today can only dream of.
This movie was not just for entertainment, at least, as millions of people around the world saw the movie as a source of hope and courage. Boseman’s death reminded us of how much impact his character made in our lives. His character’s most quoted words on the day his death was announced were “In my culture, death is not the end…” A sign that our lives shouldn’t be lived without a vision. What ever we do on earth, even after our passing, will continue to speak of us. We are reminded to be selfless and expect nothing in return for good works, as a good name is indeed better than riches.
Even though very few people really knew Boseman personally, his story of fighting cancer whiles giving the world great movies is something everyone should emulate. Inasmuch as we all have our personal battles, the world needs the very best from us. It is the least we can do as dwellers here.
In whatever you do, always remember that death is not the end; our good or bad works will affect individuals and the world.
